Repair duration depends on the problem's complexity and the availability of parts. Our technicians strive to complete repairs efficiently without compromising quality. While some repairs may only take a few hours, others may need more time for a thorough and long-lasting fix. We'll give you a realistic time estimate before we begin.

Absolutely. Universal Appliances Repair is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured repair service. As a family-owned and operated business, we take pride in being a trusted and professional service provider in the Orange County community.

Repair cost depends on the appliance type, the nature of the problem, and the parts required. Simple fixes (like a door seal or a clogged drain) cost considerably less than a compressor or motor replacement. We provide a clear estimate before any work begins, so there are no surprises. Call us at (949) 629-5365 for a quick phone assessment.
A $99 diagnostic fee covers the technician's visit and assessment. If you approve the repair, the $99 is applied toward the total. If you choose not to proceed, the $99 covers the visit and there is no further charge. If you call us back within 30 days to schedule the repair, the $99 is credited toward the repair estimate.
Yes. If you call us back within 30 days of the diagnostic visit to schedule the repair, your $99 is credited toward the repair estimate. After 30 days, the $99 is treated as the standard diagnostic fee for the original visit.
On the same visit, the first appliance's diagnostic is $99 and each additional unit is $49. So if your fridge and dishwasher both need looking at, you pay $99 for the first plus $49 for the second ($148 total) instead of two separate $99 visits.
Yes. Customers 60 and over and anyone who has previously booked a repair with us receive 20% off labor. The discount applies to the labor portion of the quote and cannot be combined with other promotions. We may ask for proof of age for the senior discount.
We service all major appliance brands, including Whirlpool, GE, Samsung, LG, Maytag, Frigidaire, KitchenAid, Kenmore, Bosch, Thermador, Sub-Zero, Wolf, Viking, Miele, and Dacor. If you don't see your brand listed, call us; chances are we service it.
Yes. We service high-end and built-in appliances including Sub-Zero refrigerators, Wolf ranges, Viking dishwashers, and Thermador ovens. These units require specialized knowledge and experience; our technicians are trained to handle them with the care they deserve.
A good rule of thumb: if the repair cost is less than 50% of the appliance's current replacement value and the unit is under 10 years old, repair is usually the better choice. Our technicians will give you an honest assessment; we'll tell you if replacement makes more financial sense rather than push an unnecessary repair.
If a repair isn't feasible (due to unavailable parts, age of the unit, or the cost exceeding replacement value) we'll let you know clearly and honestly. You'll only pay the diagnostic fee; there's no charge for work that wasn't performed. We'd rather give you a straight answer than a costly short-term fix.
We do our best to accommodate urgent situations. Call us directly at (949) 629-5365 and explain the situation; a broken refrigerator full of food or a leaking washing machine can't always wait. We'll do our best to get a technician to you as soon as possible.
Clear access to the appliance: move any items stored on top of or directly in front of it. For refrigerators, you don't need to empty it unless we ask. Have the model number handy if possible (usually on a label inside the door or on the back panel). That's it; our technician handles the rest.
